Our History

In 1988 Redland Baptist Church, in Rockville MD, planted a new church called Seneca Valley Baptist Church. It met in Seneca Valley High School and was planted in central Germantown to reach the dramatically increasing number of people moving into the area. In 1989 Pastor Darrell Bridges was brought on. There was a small group of 20 people dedicated to planting the church at the time.

Pastor Darrell managed to grow the church over the next 10 years while meeting at Seneca Valley High School. There were many talented people in the congregation that helped with this growth. It became a vibrant place that excelled at Christian growth, both in knowledge and in spirit. The music was especially good too.

The church was renamed "Crossroads Church" when the location was switched to Roberto Clemente Middle School.

In January, 2004, Pastor Bridges decided to move back to Arkansas. Between January and August of 2004, we had some absolutely tremendous guest speakers. In August 2004, the Rev. Thom Thornton agreed to become an interim pastor, while we searched for a permanent one. In the summer of 2005, Crossroads Church relocated to Northwest High School. Then, in January 2006, Larry Zecher joined us as our new Pastor.

Our worship team is comprised of dedicated individuals playing an inspiring mix of contemporary Christian music and traditional worship hymns. Team members serve voluntarily and the church welcomes the creative participation of members and guests.

We welcome you to join us as we worship and try to please God in all that we do!
